Arizona A To Z

Book Review:

Arizona A to Z offers a unique sampling of life as an Arizona resident. From "jackrabbits jumping by Joshua trees" to "zinnias zigzagging Zane Grey County", Dorothy Hines Weaver gives the reader a positive feeling for this desert state as well as informs them of Arizona culture and terrain. Coupled with Kay Wacker's beautiful colorful illustrations of the text, the reader is able to feel the serenity that the Arizona desert can offer. The book is written using beautiful poetic language and is fun for students of all ages. I plan to use this book with my students to help them appreciate the history, culture, and beauty of our state and to integrate writing and art activities that can spring from this book. Arizona A to Z is a worthwhile addition to any teacher's curriculum.
