ALL ABOUT THE DESERT

The desert is a wonderful place to live during the summer. I like the cati best, here are some of the types: saguaros, prickly pears, ocotillo and barrel cactus.
Next I am going to tell you about the mountains. Their is A-mountain which is located in downtown Tucson. My favorite mountains are the Tortolitas. Lastly there are the Catalinas which are by the town of Catalina in the Northwest.

Our state bird is the Gila Woodpecker, but the cardinal is my favorite bird. From the desert. I like it best because it has my favorite color. Red!

"Go To Mt. Lemon"

Do you want to go to Mt. Lemon but don't know what it's like? Well, this is what happened to me when I went.

It started about last year in late December. My dad said we could go to Mt. Lemon just for fun, but, he kept on saying "tomorow, tomorrow"! Finally, a week late we went. My family put on some warm cloths and we went.

When we got there it was obvious we went at the wrong time because there was a lot of traffic. There was lots of mud where we parked and the snow was hard. But, we all had fun anyway since it is such a great place.

If your inspired or itrested, get your family, set a time, and go to Mt. Lemon. Remember though, go at the right time, wear the right cloths and most of all have fun!

Winter in Tucson

Have you ever been in a desert during the winter? There are sheets on plants everywhere. Everyone wears coats gloves. Water puddles everywhere become frozen! It gets below 69º. You can see that all the heaters are on. And it is too cold to go outside so we stay inside.
