Don't Ever Cross that Road! An Armadillo Story

After reading the book, I connected this book to a unit in which the students had learned about insects. The students connected the armadillos to the insects. The students had a pretend insect school, where they each picked insects. Each student pretended to be an insect teacher and gave a warning to their insect students.

This drawing shows a ladybug avoiding being squished by a hand.

Children are ladybugs' fans.

Don't get squished by their hands.

Jessica

Don't sit on on the red tongue
and you won't get hung.

You might be a fan
so you'll be safer under the sand.

Ed

This drawing shows ants escaping an anteater.
