About the Reviewers: Photograph of April and Nika.

April F. Woolsey was born and raised in California but has made the Southwest her home for the past 14 years. She is currently enrolled in the Elementary Education Program at Northern Arizona University - Tucson campus and is very excited about encouraging children's development in literacy. She also hopes to bring her love for many types of literature to the classroom. She believes that reading is the pathway to growth and advancement toward any goal.

This lesson in comprehension and correlating it to an artful illustration was accomplished through Mrs. Wilson's 2nd grade class at Thornydale Elementary. As the first collaborative project at NAU, April says that this experience was both enjoyable and stimulating. Her graduation date is December 2007, and she hopes to work on many other literacy projects before then. Although she likes Tucson, ultimately, she would love to teach overseas in Europe. She also hopes to attain a master's degree in library science where her love of books will expand even further into the lives of children.

Danika Gregory is an NAU student studying to be an elementary school teacher. She would like to teach 6th grade at the elementary level. Danika has been in the classroom her entire life, having been raised in a family of teachers. Although she did not always want to "grow up" to be a teacher, she realized her passion truly lies within the walls of an elementary school.

Danika currently works at a Tucson elementary school and loves her job with every ounce of her being. She also enjoys photography and does event photos for elementary school dances and other events. She has an enthusiasm for technology in the classroom as well and would like to follow up her Bachelor's in Elementary Education with a Master's in Educational Technology. (Fall 2005)
