The Goat in the Rug

Book Review:

Summary: The book The Goat in the Rug is told by a goat named Geraldine, who is best friends with a Navajo woman named Glenmae. Glenmae makes beautiful Indian rugs. One day Glenmae is sharpening scissors and Geraldine has no idea why. But he finds out very quickly, when Glenmae clips Geraldine's wool and goes through all the steps necessary to create an Indian rug: from hair clipping, to yarn spinning and dying, to finally making the loom and weaving the pattern. Along with Geraldine, the reader learns along not only about the care and pride with which a Navajo rug is made but also about cooperation between friends.

Illustrations: The illustrations are very colorful and detailed. They are humorous and show all the steps in creating a rug.
