The Magic Hummingbird

Mrs. Danser's class at Cragin Elementary responded to The Magic Hummingbird by drawing a picture that summarized the story and then writing about either their favorite part of the story or how they would feel if they were deserted by their parents and their community.

"If my parents left me and my sister would have nowhere to go. We would live with a neighbor until they came home."
	"If my parents left I would be very sad. I would pray that they would come home soon. I would go live with my grandparents."
"My favorite part of the story was when the hummingbird found food and took it to the boy and the girl."

"I think that the story is very magical. I think that it displays a lot of sadness, joy and sorrow. My favorite part of the story was when the hummingbird becomes real and brings back food for the children."
