About the Reviewers: Casey and the puppet play theater (Fall 2005)

Casey Morin (pictured) and Katie Chimienti reviewed the Southwest children's book, She'll Be Comin' 'Round the Mountain. They shared this book with Ms. Smith's kindergarten class at Cragin Elementary School as part of their collaborative practicum in November of 2005.

Casey Morin was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. She is pursuing her Bachelor's degree in elementary education at the Northern Arizona University Tucson campus. She is a wife to her husband, Peter, stepmother to their son, Tyler, and works as an insurance producer for State Farm Insurance Companies. Becoming a teacher has always been a personal goal for Casey. Not only would she like to inspire children in the classroom, but she would eventually like to motivate athletes on the basketball court as well. Influential teachers throughout her K-12 years have been Casey's inspiration for becoming a teacher. She hopes to teach 4th-6th graders while making positive impacts on students' lives.

Katie Chimienti is also a native Tucsonan pursuing her Bachelor's degree in elementary education through NAU's distance learning campus in Tucson. Her degree will also contain a content emphasis in bilingual and special education. Katie currently works full time as a bookkeeper and administrative assistant for a prestigious law firm in the Tucson area. "I make a good living in the law field, but my dream lies in teaching," commented Ms. Chimienti in regards to her career change. Ms. Chimienti hopes to teach anywhere from kindergarten through third grade. "I have really enjoyed participating in the Southwest Children's Literature experience with my partner Casey Morin and believe the website is a great resource for teachers."
