About the Reviewer:

Cynthia Moreno is currently a junior at the University of Arizona and is a true native of the Southwest. She was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. After graduation, Cynthia plans to stay and teach in Tucson.

Cynthia's decision to become a teacher is based on the fact that her younger sister did not receive the help she needed to learn to read.. Her younger sister was passed from grade to grade. Well into her adult life, Cynthia's sister can only read at a second-grade level.

Cynthia realized that reading would be the number one teaching priority in her future classrooms. Teaching and learning is a never-ending cycle. As professional educators, we are responsible to teach our students effective skills that will help them succeed in the real world.
