About the Reviewer:
I am a 34-year-old woman who is married and has three children,
one with my husband and two from his previous marriage. For
a long time I have wanted to become a teacher. My 3-year-old
daughter has only solidified my desire to go into the teaching
field. I love to watch a child's interest go from a single
flicker of curiosity to a flame that burns brighter with the
acquisition of knowledge. I look forward to entering a calling
that has a profound effect on the future. I believe that teachers
have within their grasp, not only the power to shape each
child that they come into contact with, but also the future
of society as a whole. I will graduate in fall of 2006, and
I look forward to entering the classroom with enthusiasm and
creativity.
My personal interests vary widely. I love to hike, camp,
4-wheel drive, ride quads and sand rails. I love animals,
especially dogs, but I have had cats, ducks, chickens, pot-bellied
pigs and an assortment of other critters. I enjoy a diverse
interest in music. I read for pleasure whenever I can. Out
of everything that exists around me, the most important thing
to me is my family. Without my supportive husband, my mother,
who is the babysitter, my precious daughter and stepchildren,
I could not realize the dream of becoming a teacher. (Fall
2004)
