About the Reviewer:
Nicole Scoles is currently the teacher-librarian at an excelling
elementary school in Tucson, Arizona. Nicole is blessed to
have an ongoing partnership with many of the teachers at the
school site. Each week she engages the children (preschool-6th
grade) in lessons following the Arizona Academic Standards
and the American Library Association Standards for the 21st
Century Learner.
For this Southwest Book Project, Nicole collaborated with
a distinguished first grade teacher who shares Nicole's ideals
that reading is more effectively taught with good literature.
The first grade team incorporates literature and especially
multicultural literature in all of their thematic units.
Nicole is currently a part of the Master's program in the
School of Information Resources and Library Science at the
University of Arizona.
