Don't Call Me Pig! A Javelina Story

These are first graders' responses to the book. They illustrated and wrote about their favorite part of the story. I shared this book with students from Cottonwood Elementary School.

Don't ever call javelina pigs because they will get mad. They like cactus. They don't see very well.

A javelina eats cactus. They sleep a lot when they want to.

I like the part when the javelina eats cactus. I like the part when he has the glasses.

The girl javelina falls in love with boy javelina. They eat cactus, prickly cactus.

Sierra

The drawing shows two javelinas in the desert.  They are sharing a piece of cactus.
