Delicious Hullabaloo/Pachanga deliciosa is a great children's book for teachers using Spanish in their classrooms. Delicious Hullabaloo is a story about family, friends and food. As friends and families gather together for the various parties (whether for a holiday or for fun), it always becomes a story. This party starts with delicious foods, some music and dancing. As the guests begin to arrive the music gets more exciting, and the people all help make the food.

The geometric illustrations in this book are very colorful. All the lines and shapes have such simple form yet depict such luscious colors. The animals are all very bright and colorful even if they aren't actually so bright in real life. The colors bring into focus the liveliness of the celebration.

This book would be a great book for a class that is working on learning Spanish, trying to include a few Spanish speakers words in the class, or just for fun. This story can be integrated into the curriculum for numerous topics such as family, parties, Mexico and various other stretches of the imagination.
