Dusty Locks and the Three Bears

The week before this lesson, in order to establish prior knowledge, I read the traditional Goldilocks and the Three Bears by Jan Brett to the children. For this lesson, the children had an opportunity to hear Dusty Locks and the Three Bears by Susan Lowell, another version of the story set in the mountains of the Southwest. After the story, the children performed a skit using sequencing, character recognition and setting. They then were asked to draw the setting for the book.
