About the Reviewers:
Vanessa Mitchell is currently residing in Tucson, Arizona.
She is pursuing her Bachelor's degree in elementary education
through Northern Arizona University while working full time
in retail as an assistant manager. After graduating, she would
love to teach the second grade. She has passion to teach literacy
to children who are just beginning the reading and writing
process. This passion developed due to her wonderful childhood
experiences with literacy. Vanessa chose the teaching profession
because of her experience in early childcare. Since the age
of 16, she has worked with preschool aged children at a church.
The years of experience have given Vanessa a strong foundation
in early-childhood education and have inspired her to teach
kids in elementary schools.
Sarah Ash is a native Tucsonan. She also is attending NAU
to receive her Bachelor's degree in elementary education.
She chose this profession because she is fond of children
and would like to become a mentor. She believes education
is very important in today's society because children are
the future. Sarah works full- time as a manager in the restaurant
business. She plans on moving to Oregon or Washington to begin
her career. She is interested in teaching K-3 grades and later
she plans on pursuing her Master's degree in education.
We reviewed the Southwest children's book, Dig, Wait,
Listen: A Desert Toad's Tale. We shared this book with
