My Nana's Remedies/Los remedios de mi nana

Book Review:

My Nana's Remedies/Los remedios de mi nana is a wonderful story about what a nana does to make her granddaughter feel better. From making her special drinks like chamomile tea or sugar water, to tying a rag filled with potato slices around her head, this nana always has a special remedy. The home remedies followed by the nana, not only make the granddaughter feel better; they also give her a sense of family tradition.

The illustrations have a southwestern theme with vibrant pictures that portray the feelings of the granddaughter and of the nana. After reading this outstanding picture book, you, too, will feel the sense of love and tradition in this story. This story is presented in English and Spanish to appeal to readers of both languages. At the end of the book, there is a glossary of medicinal plants that explains about the different plants and herbs that are used to treat certain illnesses.
