The Pot That Juan Built

After hearing the book, Ms. Angel's first and second grade multiage classroom students worked in small groups to make a pot of their own using Juan's techniques. Next, they wrote an individual poem about their pot. Note: The italicized font represents the students choice to write in cursive.

Danielle 11/30/04 It's heart shape and colorful and it's hot as the sun it's pink, blue, yellow, and green it makes me happy it's beautiful.
	Julio 11/30/04 Our pot has a lot of colors Yellow like the sun Blue like ribbon Red like a chili Green like prickly pear.
Zack 11/30/04 A pot is Hot and Spicy When I look at it It makes me dizzy It's heart shaped.
