About the Reviewer:
Karen Fields is a 41-year-young University of Arizona student
working on a post-baccalaureate elementary education certification.
Her inspiration to teach initially stemmed from her work with
her own four children, both at home and in their classrooms.
After working with the twenty classrooms at Steele Elementary
for several years, Karen has become addicted to seeing light
bulbs going off in children's heads. She desires to bring
a multi-disciplinary approach to education, to actively engage
all students, and to make education relevant in the lives
of each child. And -- oh yes, she hopes that the power generated
in her students' minds may be so significant to be considered
as an alternative energy source. :o) (November 1999)
