Lizards on the Wall

Book Review:

This is a story of small lizards that crawl around and make their home on a wall. They are active at night doing things such as playing, skittering across an adobe wall, and eating what they can find. They like to eat such things as bugs, scorpions, and pesky bugs that eat people. A child is watching them from his bed. He loves the companionship of the lizards because they protect him at night.

The illustrations are of soft hues, which is reminiscent of the nighttime. The background includes a bright orange moon in a black sky with white stars on most pages. The animals are drawn in very fine detail to give them an authentic look. The pictures themselves are placed on a white background, which brings out the colors.

The authors indicate that they build their own adobe houses. They have many desert creatures at their home and their favorites are the lizards on the wall.
