Soft Child: How Rattlesnake Got Its Fangs

This book provides its audience with varied types of black and white imagery. When I read this book to a 3rd - 4th grade classroom as well as to a relative who is in a home school program, the color imagery and the use of imaginative influences was mountainous. Here are a few of the illustrations that the children in my class produced after I read the book to them.

The drawing shows an airplane flying over a snake.

The drawing shows a rattlesnake under a rainbow.

The drawing shows a rattlesnake in the desert.

The drawing shows a jackrabbit in the desert.
