Walker of Time

The voice excerpts on this page are from a group of 8th-grade students at Emily Gray Junior High School located in Tucson, Arizona. Three students worked together using a wiki to discuss the book, focusing on the mood and tone of the story and how the setting affects these elements. Two of the three students provided permission to share discussion comments on this Web site; some of their comments are below.

These are the initial discussion responses after reading the first few chapters.

Anthony
"I think this book is pretty coolio! It is very descriptive and I like it very much so far! I like the way it describes the sweat and water drips down his back. I think it is very interesting because the [Naat] gave him a backpack with an interesting object in it. What do you think the object will enable him to do?"

Usman
"We could imagine this book in our minds but the author doesn't want us to read the book, the suspense makes us read the book."

Usman posted these final comments after finishing the book:
"I liked the ending of the book because it had adventure, drama and humility. I liked the pick [village chief] because I think he is ready and the main things are that he has honesty and he likes peace and harmony."
