I Howl, I Growl

Book Review:

Marcia Vaughan entertains her readers with I Howl I Growl. This delightful board book features many animals of the Southwest. Through sounds and movements, the reader can learn about the different aspects of the animal. In addition to the rhyming phrases, the illustrations depict the animals' behaviors. It is either a sound or a movement. "I howl (coyote). I growl (mountain lion)." "I chase (ringtail). I race (roadrunner)." Beautiful illustrations by Polly Powell offer a realistic view of the animals to the reader. Children can have a great time participating in the reading of I Howl I Growl. This story is a wonderful way to introduce young readers to the animals of the Southwest. I Howl I Growl is a worthy addition to any library. This book is recommended for ages 1-5.
