Grace Lena is a third year student in the College of Education.
She is a native of Tucson, Arizona and lives with her husband,
three children, and two dogs in Tucson. She has worked in
many different areas of life. When she was still in high school,
she worked for a local plant nursery for many years. She loves
to grow flowers and vegetables. Her other areas of experience
are in real estate, legal secretary, library technician, and
teacher's aide. Her favorite memories are of summer vacations
at her Uncle's ranch in Sonoita. It is what inspired her love
of nature and the outdoors. She decided to become a teacher
after working in the schools that her children attended. The
reason for her returning to school is to set an example for
her own children and because she wants to make the rest of
her life meaningful by serving the community as a teacher.
She loves being with children more than with most adults.
After graduation, she looks forward to the day she has her
first real students and classroom. (April, 2000)
